Meals on Wheels Durham

December Give Bach– Meals on Wheels Durham’s mission is to serve the elderly, frail, disabled, convalescing and others who cannot provide proper nutrition for themselves. Dedicated volunteers deliver lunches to our clients each weekday, with the objective of improving the nutritional status and health of these individuals. It is our goal to provide the combination of nutritious meals and social contact that will help our clients to remain independent as long as possible.


UVA Cancer Center

Currently Giving Bach to UVA Cancer Institute — At UVA, they are redefining what it means to be an academic medical center. That means caring, researching and teaching with renewed focus and compassion for every patient.


Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU

Total Raised: $1,184

nurtures the champion in every child. The new inpatient children’s hospital is under construction and due to be ready in 2022. It will be a state-of-the-art, life changing, lifesaving institution for all children in our community. The facility will provide new operating rooms, imaging capacity, emergency department space and family amenities – exclusively to provide the best care in an environment designed for kids and families.




ASK Childhood Cancer

is making life better for children with cancer. ASK provides assistance, support & kindness to make life better for children with cancer. While the hospital and medical staff focus on treatment, ASK works to provide the quality of life support needed to make life with cancer less traumatic from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.


Durham Partnership for Children

to ensure every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed, lead community strategies for children birth to 5 and their families that promote healthy development and learning and enhance access to high quality care.


Connor’s Heroes

Total Raised: $1,968

to build a community of heroes who provide hope, guidance and support to children with cancer and their families. Their vision is to make fighting childhood cancer a journey a family never faces alone.


Service Dogs of Virginia

Total Raised: $1,709

nonprofit organization that raises, trains and places dogs to assist people with disabilities such as severe Type 1 diabetes, Addison’s disease, autism, military PTSD and paralysis. Highly trained dogs perform a multitude of tasks that allow greater personal freedom and independence for clients residing in the Commonwealth of VA. It costs approximately $40k over a two year period to raise, train and place a successful service dog. Through generous support, Service Dogs of VA is able to provide service dogs at no cost to those in need.


VCU Massey Cancer Center

Total Raised: $1,190

serve as a comprehensive center of excellence in cancer research, prevention and control, patient care and education. Our guiding principles are to make important discoveries about cancer and to translate these discoveries rapidly into better prevention, detection, treatment and control of cancer to enhance the quality of life of all individuals affected by cancer.


Christchurch, New Zealand Mosque Victims and Their Families

Total Raised: $4,014

100% of all donations will be used to provide resources for people affected by the Christchurch shootings and their families through Victim Support Manaaki Tangata. Victim Support Manaaki Tangata provides 24 hour, seven days a week access as an integrated, personalized and professional support to all victims of crime and trauma.
